2023 Program Summer Camp between Confucius Institute Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah and Confucius Institute Hebei University

In September 2023, a Summer Camp Program between Confucius Institute, Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), and Confucius Institute, Hebei University commenced. This program aimed to enhance students' knowledge of Mandarin language and traditional Chinese practices such as calligraphy, painting, martial arts (wushu), playing musical instruments (guzheng), and participating in tea ceremonies. Additionally, it allowed UMPSA students to experience the academic environment at another institution, fostering cross-university networking.
The program was organized and featured diverse events over the 14-days duration, including campus tours. UMPSA students were warmly hosted with accommodation, food, transportation, and more, ensuring a delightful experience. The entire program proceeded smoothly, with the organizers providing support from start to finish. The kind and helpful staff contributed to the anticipation of each day, wishing the summer camp would never end.
The benefits of this program were numerous. Students learned Mandarin through morning language classes, followed by engaging afternoon sessions in which they explored Chinese traditions and tried new experiences, such as shopping and sampling local cuisine. For many, this was their first extended stay in a foreign country, offering valuable insights.
Overall, the Summer Camp Program was an invaluable experience, enhancing the students' cultural awareness and language skills. We hope to see more such programs in the future, strengthening the bond between Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah and Hebei University.
