2023 Student Exchange Program between Centre for Mathematical Sciences, Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah and College of Mathematics and Information Science, Hebei University

30th August 2023 embarks the first ever Student Exchange Programme for Centre for Mathematical Sciences, Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA). The Student Exchange Programme or Industrial Training are designed to create opportunities for incoming students as well as UMPSA students to experience the learning process at other institutes of higher learning. The exposure to a different learning environment will broaden and enrich the students’ learning experience as well as to increase the students’ networking with students from other universities. This program involves credit transfer between UMPSA partner universities to ensure cooperation in registering subject, transferring credit, admission procedure, immigration documentation and financial matters with mutual agreement between both parties. The students are required to stay at the host university for one (1) or two (2) semesters.
For the year of 2023, College of Mathematics and Information Science, Hebei University became our partner university, hence the host university for our students. Five (5) second year students of Bachelor of Applied Sciences in Data Analytics with Honours were involved for one (1) semester (September 2023 – January 2024), who are Tham Zhi Yun (SD22049), Hong Zieyie (SD22027), Yu Jia Ann (SD22054), Eliane Ho Wan Wen (SD22056)and Alena Ng Pei Yeen (SD22029).
At Hebei University, they are learning the course of Principle of Database, Data Structure, Python Programming, Python-based Big Data Analytics and Machine Learning. The success of this student exchange program was contributed by the continuous good relations and various previous collaborations, between the Centre for Mathematical Sciences and College of Mathematics and Information Science, Hebei University. We hope that the student exchange program will support the future development of dual degree program and further strengthen the alliance between Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah and Hebei University.
