4th INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON APPLIED & INDUSTRIAL MATHEMATICS AND STATISTICS 2023 (ICoAIMS 2023)

Centre for Mathematical Sciences, Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) had successfully organised the 4th International Conference on Applied & Industrial Mathematics and Statistics 2023 (ICoAIMS 2023). The conference took place at the Hotel Grand Darul Makmur from the 22nd to the 24th of August 2023 and was officially inaugurated by Yang Berbahagia, Professor Ts. Dr. Kamal Zuhairi Zamli, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research & Innovation) of Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah. ICoAIMS 2023 was jointly organised with the Malaysian Mathematical Sciences Society (PERSAMA) and Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia (SSM). With the theme “Mathematics and Statistics for Technological Society”, ICoAIMS 2023 aimed to bring together leading academics, scientists, researchers, and research scholars to exchange and share their experiences and research results across all aspects related to Mathematics and Statistics. The theme was chosen to reflect to co-existence of mathematics and statistics in creating new innovative technological solutions to meet the needs of civilization. It provided a premier interdisciplinary platform for researchers, practitioners, and educators to present and discuss the most recent research and innovations, as well as practical challenges encountered, and solutions adopted in the field of mathematics.

The objectives of this conference are:
  1. To bring together renowned researchers with new investigators in various scopes of mathematics and statistics from around the world.
  2. To provide a platform for researchers and practitioners in the field of mathematical and statistical sciences to share research experiences, ideas, and contributions in a conducive atmosphere.
  3. To promote the discipline of mathematics and statistics as professions within broader community, particularly to decision-makers and applications in engineering and industry.
To encourage interaction and mutual understanding among mathematics and statistics professionals worldwide.
Four keynotes’ speakers have shared their vast experiences, gave fruitful thoughts and great ideas at ICoAIMS 2023 including:
  • Professor Dr. Jumat Sulaiman, Director of Research Management Centre, Universiti Malaysia Sabah.
  • Wan Zarazillah Wan Abu Bakar, Senior Manager, Business Advisory and Statistics Section, Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia.
  • Associate Professor Dr. Yuhani Yusof, Centre for Mathematical Sciences, Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah.
  • Professor Dr. Sergey V. Utyuzhnikov, University of Manchester.

It is with great honour that we announce receiving over 103 abstracts for ICoAIMS 2023. A total of 116 delegates from various countries presented and shared their research findings during ICoAIMS 2023. These delegates represented public and private universities in Malaysia, Oman, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, and Nigeria.

ICoAIMS 2023 successfully achieved the conference’s objectives, stimulating further research prospects and promoting collaboration among delegates. We look forward to more collaborations among mathematicians in exploring and advancing new knowledge and research in the future. Hope to meet again at the next edition of ICoAIMS.
