Dual Degree Development and Mobility Program Discussion between Centre for Mathematical Sciences, Universiti Malaysia Pahang and College of Mathematics and Information Science, Hebei University

On 24th March 2023, a discussion about the dual degree development and mobility program between the Centre for Mathematical Sciences, Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) and the College of Mathematics and Information Science, Hebei University (HBU) was held virtually via VooV Meeting. This meeting was also joint by the Centre for Strategic Academic Collaboration and Confucius Institute, UMP.

The discussion focused on the matter of dual degree development for Bachelor of Applied Science in Data Analytics with Honours (UMP) and students’ outbound and inbound mobility. Previously, Centre for Mathematical Sciences and College of Mathematics and Information Science, Hebei University has collaborated in three international Global Classrooms in 2021, and co-organization of 3rd International Conference on Applied & Industrial Mathematics and Statistics 2022 (ICoAIMS 2022). Additionally, the Data Analytics students also participated in the 2022 Online Summer Camp for Data Science & Big Data Technology organized by Confucius Institute.
The follow up discussion was held on 28th March 2023, and more details on the dual degree development and student’s mobility procedure, was given by Prof. Dr Xing Huibin (Deputy Director of International Cooperation Office, HBU). The discussion was also joint by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wang Haiyan (Director China, Confucius Institute).
At the end of the discussion, both Centre for Mathematical Sciences and the College of Mathematics and Information Science agreed to exchange the academic curriculum structure, and planned the future activities for dual degree development, student’s mobility, and even academic staff’s exchange. We hope that the discussion managed to further strengthen the alliance between Universiti Malaysia Pahang and Hebei University.
