Aspirasi Gemilang AST Program for students of Foundation in Science and Technology Program 2024

On February 5, 2024, 31 students from Foundation in Science and Technology Program (AST), PSM UMPSA participated in Aspirasi Gemilang AST Program, held at UMPSA Pekan Campus Library, organised by Jawatankuasa Program Khas PSM. The program aims to provide students with exposure to essential and relevant preparations for the subsequent phase of their academic journey.
The first session of the program is a talk on Malaysian University English Test (MUET) Briefing by Puan Noraisah Nurul Fatwa binti Mohd Razali, Language Teacher from Centre for Modern Language, UMPSA, followed by another talk on Dual Degree Opportunities in UMPSA by Ts. Dr. Lee Khai Loon, Deputy Director of Centre for Strategic Academic Collaboration, UMPSA.
The final talk is on Career Pathway by Puan Nurul Arina Raihan binti Che Azmi and Puan Syahida Adila binti Ismail, Psychology Officers from Carrier Centre, UMPSA. Students actively participated in all three sessions and gained useful insights from each speaker. Professor Mohd Zuki bin Salleh, the Dean of PSM was present and presented a token of appreciation to the speaker. The program has effectively provided students with information that will guide students to make a well-informed decision in advancing their studies.
In the afternoon, students were involved with team-building activities together with the Academic Advisor. The group activity, which was a bowling event, took place at the Bowling Center, Premium Lanes, Pekan involving a total of 10 groups consisting of AST students, the Academic Advisor, and staff from PSM. This activity aimed to strengthen relationships and foster teamwork among group members. The event ends around 4:30 p.m. with a photo session and prize giving ceremony to all the winners, presented by the Deputy Dean of Academic & Student Affairs, PSM, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd Sham bin Mohamad.
