The Mathematics Support Centre (MSC) committee, representing the PSM UMPSA, has organized a Back to Basics Program for undergraduate students at Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA). Held on March 24, 2024, this initiative aims to cultivate students with a strong mathematical foundation, particularly focusing on differentiation and integration topics crucial for engineering applications. The program took place online via Microsoft Teams.
Wong Meng Fai, a second-year student pursuing a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering with Honours, led the online revision session on differentiation. His selection as a speaker stems from his enthusiasm for teaching and his consistent A-grade performance in mathematical courses. Emphasizing peer sharing, the MSC aimed to foster greater student engagement during the session, which drew 50 attendees registered for courses including Ordinary Differential Equations, Applied Calculus, Calculus, Applied Mathematics, and Mathematics for Computer Graphics for the current semester.
Since its inception in 2016, the MSC committee has periodically organized this program each semester, with the aim of benefiting students and enhancing their understanding of mathematics courses at UMPSA.
