PSM UMPSA won First Runner-Up at New Horizon Innovative and Creative Group (KIK) Convention UMPSA 2023

On November 8, 2023, the Innovative & Creative Group (KIK), Centre for Mathematical Sciences (PSM) won first runner-up, receiving a certificate and cash of RM1200.00 in the New Horizon KIK Convention, UMPSA 2023. The KIK convention which was held at the Banquet Hall, Canseleri Tun Abdul Razak, UMPSA was organized by the Centre for Strategic & Quality Management (PSKK), and lasted for two days from 7 November 2023 until 8 November 2023. The Innovatory (KIK) PSM group for the first time participating in the KIK convention has produced and developed the 'MyStationary' app to facilitate the process of ordering and picking up stationery in the office.
Eight groups from several faculties and departments have participated in this convention. Among them are, the Faculty of Industrial Science & Technology (FIST), the Faculty of Computing (FKOM), the Digital Technology Center (DITEC), the Department of Research and Innovation (JPI), the Registrar's Office, the Faculty of Chemical & Process Engineering Technology (FTKKP), and the University Health Center (PKU). Three external judges were invited consisting of Mr. Husaini A. Razab from UITM Kelantan Branch, Kota Bharu Campus, Mrs. Noor Diyana Hayati Binti Kamudin, Human Resource Management Department, Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MOSTI) and Ts. Muhaimin Mustakim Bin Jamaludin from the Quality Section, Corporate Unit, Pahang Government Secretary's Office.
The first place won by the Innovative T group from FIST, followed by the Innovatory group from PSM in second place and the Teramax group from FKOM in third place. Other groups also received awards such as best creativity award, best performance, best aspiration innovation, best aspiration group and special jury award. The closing and prize giving ceremony was presented by the Director of the Quality Assurance Department, Centre for Strategic Management & Quality (PPSK), Prof. Assoc. Ir. Dr. Norazwina Zainol. The New Horizon KIK Convention, UMPSA 2023 successfully unearthed new ideas and produced more creative innovations to be applied at work.
